Lena Peters presents a ceramic vessel and ritual object in the form of a supine cow. The cow has long symbolised motherhood, fertility and sacrifice in myriad world mythologies, and was also attributed specific roles such as the Viking beast, Auoumbla, whose milk nourished the first giants. Lena Peters graduated in 2017 from Central St Martins College of Art & Design with a BA Hons in Ceramic Design. Spotted at her graduate show, she participated in Vases and Vessels, November 2017 at David Gill Gallery. Gill gave Peters her first solo show in November 2018, Saints and Spirits, and has represented her since then.
Peters’ work has also been exhibited at the Lethaby Gallery, London, the British Ceramics Biennale, Stoke-on-Trent, and the Pangolin Gallery, London. Her next solo show will be at David Gill Gallery in Spring 2020.
